All Group manufacturing plants shall have an environmental management system
The system shall include Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) and, as a minimum, the environmental part thereof shall be certified. Management of Group companies are responsible for establishing and maintaining the system.
When relevant, environmental assessment shall, like any other critical business activity, form part of the basis for decisions at all levels
This includes prior assessment of environmental consequences of choice of raw materials, changes in manufacturing facilities, product development etc.
When relevant, all employees must be involved in environmental activities
Employees awareness of environmental considerations shall be encouraged by training and education so that everybody acts in an environmentally responsible way and is able to contribute to common environmental efforts.
Group companies shall prepare environmental action plans to ensure continuous improvements
Improvements that are expected to give the greatest environmental advantages shall be given the highest priority. Progress shall be assessed at least once a year and new plans initiated as required.
Employees must be ensured a safe and healthy working environment
Employees shall be able to come to work every day without fear of injury by accident or fear of illness as a result of physical strain, noise or chemical pollution. Risky working processes shall be eliminated and harmful materials replaced by less harmful ones whenever technically and economically possible. The employees shall not take chances with their health.
Pollution and other environmental impacts from manufacturing plants must be controlled
Local emission limits and other official requirements shall be complied with. Initiatives to further reduce environmental impacts shall be pursued, provided that the relationship between environmental improvements and costs is reasonable.
Utilisation of resources must be improved continuously
Utilisation of resources shall be continuously optimised on the basis of relevant key figures. Important focus areas are manufacturing waste and energy consumption.
Risk of pollution and accidents must be prevented
Manufacturing facilities, processes and working routines shall be prepared with the objective of reducing the risk of pollution and avoiding accidents. Management shall ensure that the necessary emergency plans have been prepared and, where practically possible, also tested.
Management shall promote information, openness and cooperation regarding enquiries concerning environmental matters related to our plants and products
This applies to enquiries from staff, authorities, customers and other stakeholders.
