Recycling

nkt cables has its own recycling plant
Our recycling company in Stenlille in Western Zealand is among the first 100 Danish companies with DS/EN ISO 14001 certification.
Here we recycle production waste such as metals and plastic from nkt cables's own factories, worn-out leads and cables from nkt cables's customers, European cable plants, domestic and foreign waste dealers, as well as plastic waste from other plastic processing companies.
The Stenlille plant has at its disposal specially developed processing equipment for recycling. Plants and processes are developed continuously, making sure that nkt cables is always being abreast of development.
Metal from all cable types is extracted and reused in new products - directly or indirectly by means of refining. Wherever possible, plastic is recycled for use in cable production or for other technical purposes and products.
Environment also means recycling of cable drums. All nkt cables's standard cable drums are suited for multiple use and have an average life expectancy of 10 years.
The cable drums are manufactured and maintained in our recycling plant in Stenlille. Cable drums are supplied both to the nkt cables group factories and to companies outside the group.
We can advise you how best to dispose of wire and cable waste and transformers in an environmentally-friendly way.
This is what we mean when we say that environment is always on our mind.
